Jeff A. Jenkins grew up in a preacher’s family in the

state of Alabama, and he has been preaching since

1973. He married Laura Colley in 1981, and they have

two children: Amanda, who is married to Drew Scott,

and Jeremy. Jeff and Laura are currently enjoying their

two grandchildren.

Jeff holds degrees from Faulkner University (AA –

1979), Freed Hardeman University (BA – 1981), and

has done post-graduate work at Southern Christian

University and Emory University.

Jeff has served as the preaching minister for the

Midway church of Christ in Moulton, Alabama (1981-

1984), University church of Christ in Montgomery,

Alabama (1984-1994), and North MacArthur church of

Christ in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (1994-2004). He

has been the preaching minister for the Lewisville

church of Christ since July, 2004, and he was involved

in Radio and TV Preaching for more than twenty years.

He has served on a number of boards including

Maywood Christian Camp, Rainbow Omega, and Freed

Hardeman President’s Advisory Council. He currently

serves on the Board of Trustees at Freed Hardeman

University, the Lads-To-Leader’s Board, the advisory

board for The International Gospel Hour, and the

Advisory Board for Brotherhoodnews.com.

Jeff preaches annually in a number of Gospel meetings,

family seminars, leadership seminars, lectureships and

other special events. He has written for Gospel

Advocate Magazine, Spiritual Sword Magazine, Twenty-
First Century Bible Study Guide, Power For Today, the

Entrusting Word and Forthright E-Magazine.

Jeff & his brother, Dale, founded The Jenkins Institute in

memory of their father. This ministry is dedicated to

encouraging preachers around the world through

seminars, books, podcasts, and numerous additional

resources (www.thejenkinsinstitute.com).

Jeff is author of two books, “Thoughts from the Mound,”

and “More Thoughts from the Mound,” and his favorite

hobbies are spending time with his family and reading.
